Dear Tom,

Spring has already brought forth a steady reassurance that our world is full of individuals making a difference. Whether small or large, a positive impact in care of the well-being of others or of the natural environment, is admirable. Witnessing such care and concern is heartening to say the least.

Here are a few organizations, made up of do-good individuals, that have recently warmed my heart:

• St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
• Majestic Heli Ski
• Give Kids the World
   

I thought sharing these inspiring spring accounts would warm your heart, and shine a light on a few organizations making a big difference.

This past month Escape Garden Design was honored to be a supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at the Aspen International Fashion Week (AIFW).

We were truly blessed to be part of such a wonderful cause. Being a part of this event reminded me that we are all challenged by something, and that there are more people in the world which have been through a traumatic life-altering experience than we give time to realize.

For me, such realizations become apparent when I take the time to open up and share my experiences with others.

A few weeks a ago, a friend who is an integral part of Majestic Heli Ski, a boutique helicopter skiing company, shared with me that they are now focused on carbon neutrality.

This is to say that they aim to take out of the atmosphere as much carbon dioxide as they put in, achieving a net zero carbon footprint. What an impressive outlook and an inspiring take on business!

Approaching this May is the one-year anniversary of our family trip to Give Kids the World Village.

Give Kids the World provides family accommodations and access to donated theme park tickets for children with life-threatening illness and their families. The nonprofit partners with corporations for volunteers and donations to complete the weeklong, cost-free resort package that they provide through wish-granting foundations like Make-a-Wish.

Conceived by one big-hearted man, embraced and supported by many generous individuals, corporations, and wish-granting organizations. Simply awe-inspiring.
